Spread The Love: Sonoma County Peanut Butter Food Drive Is On
The Redwood Empire Food Bank is asking for peanut butter donations in February. Read how to help.
SONOMA COUNTY, CA — The Redwood Empire Food Bank is on a peanut-butter-powered mission in February, aiming to collect 20,000 jars to help Sonoma County families put food on the table — and organizers are calling on the community to spread the love and spread the word.
Peanut butter is one of the food bank’s most versatile and requested items. It’s kid-friendly, packed with protein, and shelf-stable, making it a reliable pantry staple for families facing food insecurity.
To make donations go further, the food bank’s partner market manager is offering a few “Peanut Butter Pro Tips”: donate plastic jars only—no glass. Smaller jars help serve more households. Choose low-sugar varieties when possible. And when in doubt, go creamy over crunchy — it’s the crowd favorite.
Community members can find donation locations and learn more about how to get involved at refb.org/spread-the-love.

Monetary donations help us stretch every dollar further. Still, jars of peanut butter are welcome, and there are more ways to help with the PB super drive, including canvassing the neighborhood for peanut butter donations, hosting a collection bin in February, and dropping off peanut butter donations. See more on the website, below the donations section.
