Town Of Windsor Under Mandatory Curfew

WINDSOR, CA — A curfew went into effect Monday night in Windsor. The curfew began at 9 p.m. and ends at 5 a.m. daily until Friday at 5 a.m., according to the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office, which is contracted to run the city's police department.
The mandatory curfew was placed into effect to protect the residents of Windsor and properties within the town, the sheriff's office said.
"If you are not a Windsor resident, travel into the town is discouraged and enforcement action may be taken against you," sheriff's officials said at 10:14 p.m. Monday.

A curfew has also been called in the nearby city of Santa Rosa, where police said peaceful protests transitioned to looting and vandalism over the weekend.
Dispersal orders were issued Monday night during a third night of unlawful protesters congregating in the downtown area and near Mendocino and College avenues, Santa Rosa police said.

At about 9 p.m., 200 people were marching near Santa Rosa Junior College following the citywide curfew that went into effect at 8 p.m. Monday.
"If you are in those areas, you are legally required to comply or face arrest and/or additional deterrence measures," Santa Rosa police said at 11:05 p.m. Monday. "Allied agencies are assisting SRPD with the dispersals."
Earlier Monday evening, protesters were on U.S. Highway 101 and were blocking all northbound lanes south of Steele Lane.
