HEALDSBURG, CA — Traffic lights at the intersection of Healdsburg Avenue and Powell Avenue were on flash mode Thursday because of a pole issue, the city said.

"Signals will be returned to normal operation when repair work is complete and it is safe for motorists and workers," Shawn Sumpter, an administrative technician for the city of Healdsburg, said in an email Thursday morning.

"Follow traffic laws and be extra mindful of potential conflicts with other motorists," Sumpter said. "Thank you for exercising patience and caution."

It was not immediately clear if the pole issue was related to a crash Wednesday night on Healdsburg Avenue.

In a Nixle alert sent at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, the city of Healdsburg said:

"Healdsburg Police Department advises you to AVOID Healdsburg Ave at Ferrero & Healdsburg Ave at Sherman and Shermanbetween Healdsburg Ave and Center St. due to a current traffic issue. A vehicle crash near 7ELEVEN has closed Healdsburg Ave and will require a detour of traffic for the next few hours. Power for many customers has been impacted but restoration is expected to begin in the next few hours."
