Ukiah Man Identified In Deadly Healdsburg U.S. 101 Crash
The crash on northbound Highway 101 happened as the Ukiah man rear-ended a big-rig early Wednesday morning, according to the CHP.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — The man who died early Wednesday morning in a vehicle crash on northbound U.S. Highway 101 in Healdsburg was identified Thursday by the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office as Roger Lewis Evans, 36, of Ukiah.
The crash that claimed Evans' life happened at about 2:15 a.m. Wednesday just north of Dry Creek Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, the No. 2 lane was closed for construction, delineated by orange traffic cones and signage. In the No. 1 lane, a big-rig driven by a 58-year-old Richmond man was stopped due to a traffic break ahead being conducted by a construction vehicle, CHP Officer Jonathan Sloat said in a news release.
Evans was driving a 2001 Chevy Tahoe and for reasons still under investigation, Sloat said, failed to stop and crashed into the back of the big-rig.
