That atmosphere helped Windsor land on a new ranking of the Pacific Coast’s safest towns for senior living.

The article highlighted the Windsor Certified Farmers Market, Sutton Park, local walking trails, and the annual Zucchini Festival as pieces of a daily lifestyle designed around accessibility and outdoor gathering.

The Windsor Senior Recreation Center also drew attention for programs including yoga, Zumba, and senior-focused fitness classes.

For medical care, retirees rely heavily on nearby Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.

The ranking also devoted significant attention to the fires that have reshaped Sonoma County over the past decade.

The piece also pointed to the devastating 2017 Tubbs Fire, which destroyed neighborhoods in nearby Santa Rosa and permanently altered the region’s housing and insurance markets.
