Were You Among The Lucky In This Sea Of Green Runners?
Photographer Al Francis captured the Irish spirit of today's race in Sonoma County-- see the slideshow.
From Al Francis:
With a pair of bagpipers playing, several hundred participants took off for the Get Lucky 5K & 10K Run/Walk event early Saturday morning at the Sonoma Mountain Village located on the outskirts of Rohnert Park.
An enthusiastic crowds of all ages dressed in everything green and St. Patrick’s-themed were eager for the 8 a.m. start in a festival atmosphere that included music by the Plaid Menagerie that provided Celtic fiddle and dance music. Also, there were two bagpipe players who almost got ran over at the start line playing bagpipe music to get the runners going along the roadways around the complex, a former high tech computer complex.
