- The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau has granted approval for the West Sonoma Coast American Viticultural Area (AVA). Wineries along the cool coastline of Sonoma County will be able to print "West Sonoma Coast" on labels as a marketing tool. The AVA was granted after petitioners proved to the federal government that West Sonoma Coast is worthy of distinction for its soil, climate, and topography. (The Santa Rosa Press Democrat)
