Center for Independent Study- Apply for next fall. The Center for Independent Study is on the Healdsburg High School campus in room 92. We offer high school students an alternative to the traditional high school experience. Teachers and students meet weekly to go over work, discuss upcoming assignments, and evaluate progress. Before the next meeting with the teacher, the student is responsible for completing the assigned work on his/her own.

Counseling Corner
Okay. You submitted your FAFSA, now what? Find your SAR (student aid report) on the FAFSA site then note that each school to which to applied will send a Financial Aid Award Letter breaking down your eligibility for each type of financial aid. A specific Financial Aid Calendar can be viewed in this week's newsletter: Go to www.husd.com. We also have more colleges accepting our seniors.

SRJC summer school: Interested HHS students need to complete the online SRJC application (obtaining a student identification number) and complete the concurrent enrollment form. Then students need to return the concurrent enrollment form to the counseling office by Wednesday, March 28. Additional applications can be obtained in the counseling office for students who did not obtain the application in their English class. Since the state specifies that only 5 % of the students from each grade level will be able to attend SRJC each summer, only 8-10 students from each grade level will be chosen using a priority policy listed on the application. Applications are color coded by grade level. Students who are chosen to take SRJC summer classes will be notified and given further instructions so that they can register for the SRJC classes during the enrollment period.

Graduation Celebration- The registration forms for Graduation Celebration were sent to all parents of Seniors in the packet that came along with the list of school-sponsored activities and Senior dues. Please encourage your student to sign up early to get the best registration rate (it may go up after April 1st) and also to ensure that they'll get a sweatshirt in their preferred size.
