Wine Country Restaurant Claims America’s Only Spot On Global 'Best' List

Healdsburg's SingleThread ranks No. 93 as the only U.S. restaurant on the extended global "best of" list.

HEALDSBURG, CA — A Healdsburg restaurant claimed the only U.S. spot on a newly released global dining list, putting a Sonoma County address among destinations across six continents.

SingleThread claimed the only U.S. spot on The 50 Best Restaurants’ newly released 2026 list. The ranking put Single Thread at No. 93.

Organizers released the 50 Best Restaurants list (sponsored by S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna according to an announcement) ahead an awards ceremony in Lima, Peru.

However, the announcement revealed only restaurants that numbered 51 to 100. The top 50 will be revealed at the upcoming ceremony.

The recognition follows another award for SingleThread earlier this year. In June, the restaurant ranked No. 16 on North America’s 50 Best Restaurants list and earned the title of Best Restaurant in West USA 2026.

Chef Kyle Connaughton and farmer Katina Connaughton run SingleThread, which serves a Japanese-influenced tasting menu and includes a 24-acre farm and a five-bedroom hotel. The restaurant placed eighth in the inaugural North American ranking in 2025, when it also received the Sustainable Restaurant Award.

The new global list includes restaurants in 25 territories and 36 cities across six continents. Europe leads with 20 entries, followed by Asia with 17. Nine restaurants joined the extended ranking.

SingleThread joins five Mexican restaurants to account for North America’s six entries: Alcalde in Guadalajara, Huniik in Mérida, Arca in Tulum, Rosetta in Mexico City, and Fauna in Valle de Guadalupe.

More than 1,100 international restaurant experts, including chefs, food writers, and culinary specialists, determine the rankings. The voting academy replaces at least 25 percent of its members annually, and Deloitte independently adjudicates the process.
