City Of Hermosa Beach: Construction Notice | CIP 186 & 190 Street Improvements Various Locations

Construction is beginning on CIP 186 and CIP 190 Street Improvement Projects. This combined project will restore surface integrity, improve the ride quality and safety of City streets, as well as mitigate any potential hazards by resurfacing the pavement.

Onward Engineering is providing Construction Management and Inspection Services on behalf of the City of Hermosa Beach and Hardy & Harper will be performing the construction operations.

Construction Schedule:

Concrete repairs will take place between the weeks of August 2, 2021 to August 16, 2021.  This will include targeted repairs to deteriorated sidewalks, curbs and gutters; building new sidewalk, curb and gutter where it is missing, as well as reconstruction of curb ramps to make the ADA compliant.

Full depth asphalt point repairs are scheduled to take place the week of August 23, 2021

The street paving portion of this project is scheduled to take place the week of August 30, 2021. Each street included in the project will be cold milled and repaved over the course of approximately 2 days (one day for the mill, one day for the paving).

Striping for the newly paved streets is scheduled to be restored September 9, 2021 and September 10, 2021.

Please note that this schedule is subject to change at any time.

What to Expect:

The project work hours are Monday-Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. No work will occur on holidays. "No Parking" signs will be posted 72 hours prior to start of work on the street.

Impacts from the project may include noise from construction and equipment as well as impacts to traffic flow. Access to driveways may be limited temporarily during working hours, but a Hardy & Harper representative will always be on site to provide access when necessary.
