Errant Bird Knocks Out Power at LAX
A bird flew into a high voltage line knocking out power to several baggage and conveyance systems and escalators at LAX.

A bird flew into a high-voltage power line serving Los Angeles International Airport today, affecting some baggage and conveyance systems at five terminals, but not impacting any flights, authorities said.
It happened about 6:45 a.m., and caused a power surge that required crews to reset the systems in Terminals 2, 4, 7, 8, and the Tom Bradley International Terminal, according to an LAX spokesperson.
Affected were some systems for conveying baggage, as well as some escalators and walkways, authorities said.
