HBPD To Host Community Safety Fair
Hermosa Beach police are hosting the annual event to share safety tips to deter crime.
From the Hermosa Beach Police Department: The Hermosa Beach Police Department will host the Community Safety Fair from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, at the Hermosa Beach Community Center, 710 Pier Avenue, Hermosa Beach, CA.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will feature safety demonstrations and information from the Hermosa Beach Police Department and other agencies. Experts will also be on hand to offer free child safety seat inspections, fire safety instructions and much more. Caricature and balloon artists will provide entertainment for the children.
“The Community Safety Fair is a great opportunity for all of us to learn more about protecting our families, ourselves and our property,” said Hermosa Beach Mayor Stacey Armato. “We appreciate the Hermosa Beach Police Department and other City agencies working together to organize this annual event to increase the public’s knowledge about the many ways we can help protect our community. We also thank our the volunteers who help at the Community Safety Fair, including members of the Community Police Advisory Board, National Charity League and Los Angeles County Fire Department Explorer Program. ”

Acting Hermosa Beach Police Chief Milton McKinnon said the Community Safety Fair also provides an opportunity for police officers and staff to interact with residents and visitors to the City.
“Our officers always enjoy the chance to meet with our residents. The Community Safety Fair provides a great opportunity to talk about how simple changes – like locking up their homes and cars – can be powerful deterrents to crime,” said Acting Chief McKinnon.
