Who’s hungry? El Segundo based Custom Design & Construction has organized a weekly food truck gathering,Brake 4 Lunch, every Thursday beginning this week. The event will feature rotating gourmet food trucks from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Garbage Truck and Ta Bom will be on site today, February 26. Choura Events will celebrate their new location with a Grand Opening: Stop Being Boring, tonight, Thursday, February 26. Ryan Choura and his team will show off their new digs from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The evening features cocktails, food and fun and will showcase the latest in event planning and staging options available to their clients. The El Segundo High School Band, in conjunction with the South Bay Music Association, presents the sixth annual Comedy Night and Silent Auction on Saturday, February 28 starting at 6 p.m. at the El Segundo Performing Arts Center. Well-known throughout the community as a fun evening of entertainment, Comedy Night promises plenty of laughs for up to 900 guests and raises $20K-$25K for the award-winning high school music program. The 2015 Comedy Night line-up features the talents of four professional entertainers who have all donated their time: Paul Draper, Kelly McCarron, Robert Fleet and emcee Danny Roque. Expect hilarious improv from the school’s ComedySportz team, rocking beats from the ESHS drumline, and a death-defying trombone suicide routine. Food will be available from Britt’s BBQ, and there will be a delectable array of bake sale desserts. A fabulous silent auction rounds out the evening, allowing people to choose from hundreds of items, all donated by the community and band families. Tickets to Comedy Night are $20 in advance, $25 at the door, and the comedy is rated PG-13. Ivivva, a girl’s fitness apparel brand created by lululemon, will host a FREE Salsa Dance Class on Sunday, March 1 from 10 to 11 a.m. The class will be led by Tenia Worick, an award-winning salsa dance instructor, dancer and choreographer. The class is for girls between the ages of 6 to 16 and attendees should wear comfortable shoes with smooth soles. Girls are encouraged to bring a friend and get ready for some fun! The Deck now hosts Buzzed Bar Games every Tuesday night from 7 to 9 p.m. Some friends of mine attended this week and told me they had a ton of fun. The evening features some of the most popular TV games of all time including Family Feud, The Price is Right, Name that Tune, Let’s Make a Deal and more. It’s a night of fun, games, trivia and prizes! The winners will receive gift certificates – first place $25; second place $15; third place $10.
