Jerramy Stevens, Former Seahawk and Husband to Hope Solo, Pleads Guilty to DUI in Manhattan Beach

Stevens was ordered into rehab following a highly publicized arrest that resulted in his wife being suspended from the national soccer team.

Former Seattle Seahawks tight end Jerramy Stevens, the husband of women’s Olympic soccer star Hope Solo, was sentenced today to 30 days in jail and four years probation for driving drunk in Manhattan Beach.

Stevens, 35, was also ordered to enter a two-year alcohol-treatment program.

Stevens pleaded no contest in April to one count each of driving under the influence within 10 years of another DUI offense and driving with a 0.08 percent blood alcohol content within 10 years of another DUI offense, according to Deputy District Attorney Juree Kim.

Stevens also admitted allegations that he had a 2007 DUI conviction in Scottsdale, Ariz., that he refused a chemical test and that his blood alcohol concentration was 0.15 percent or more, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

Stevens was arrested about 1:30 a.m. Jan. 19 after police saw him driving a van with its lights off near Rosecrans and Redondo avenues, according to the prosecutor. He refused a chemical blood or breath test and officers had to get a search warrant to obtain a blood sample from him, according to Kim.

Solo, the goalkeeper for the U.S. Women’s National Team and a former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant, was in the car with Stevens during the traffic stop and arrest. The website TMZ reported that Solo used her cell phone to record the arrest and argued with officers, nearly leading to a disorderly conduct arrest.

Solo was subsequently hit with a 30-day suspension from the soccer team, which issued a statement citing “a poor decision” that negatively impacted the team. She was reinstated Feb. 21 and played as the team beat France to win the Algarve Cup.

Stevens was arrested in November 2012 for allegedly assaulting Solo before their wedding, but no charges were filed.
