The Laramie Project, at 8:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday, February 27, 28 and March 6,7 and at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 8.
“In October 1998, a twenty-one-year-old student named Matthew Shepard in Laramie, Wyoming was kidnapped, severely beaten and left to die - all because he was gay. Based on more than 200 interviews with the people of the town in the aftermath of the beating and during the trial of the two young men accused of killing Shepard, The Laramie Project is a deeply moving theatrical experience, a breathtaking collage that explores the depths to which humanity can sink and the heights of compassion of which we are capable.”
The production is not one to be missed. It is a passionate and thought-provoking piece that has served to not only inform and entrance show-goers, but to influence the molding of legislation and public opinion on hate crimes.
Students with valid El Camino College ASB stickers can enjoy half-off their ticket price ½ hour prior to the show.
