Hermosa Beach Man Shoots Himself During Domestic Disturbance Call
Officers responded to the call and learned one of the people involved had left the residence, according to authorities.

HERMOSA BEACH, CA – A man in his early 20s shot and critically wounded himself during a domestic disturbance-related traffic stop Thursday in Hermosa Beach. Officers responded about 4:15 p.m. to a disturbance call in the north end of the city and learned one of the people involved had left in a white Kia Forte, according to Hermosa Beach police Sgt. Robert Higgins.
An officer located the Kia about 10 minutes later in the 2300 block of Pacific Coast Highway and pulled it over, at which time the man shot himself in the head with a .40-caliber pistol, according to Higgins. The shot was fired before the officer could speak to the man, Higgins said.
Officers pulled the wounded man out of the Kia and performed CPR until firefighters arrived and took him to a hospital. The shooting closed a stretch of PCH for about 30 minutes.
