Woman in Hermosa Beach Murder/Suicide ID'd

HERMOSA BEACH, CA — The deaths of a man and a woman found Thursday in her Hermosa Beach residence were being investigated as a murder-suicide.

The two were found dead about 6:30 a.m. in the 100 block of Herondo Street.

Authorities said the man shot the woman, then turned the gun on himself.

"We understand that there was a dating relationship at some point ...," sheriff's Lt. Mike Rosson told NBC4. "We don't know exactly how long ago the relationship broke off."

Authorities withheld their names, pending notification of their relatives. But Channel 4 identified the woman as 35-year-old Vantha Tho, a hairstylist at a nearby salon.

Neighbors told NBC4 that the man had been harassing Tho and breaking into her home.

A firearm was recovered at the scene.
