Retired Santa Monica City Manager Takes Helm of Hermosa Beach While City Searches for New City Manager
The City Council also approved $18,900 to retain William Avery & Associates, an executive search firm, to search for a new city manager.

HERMOSA BEACH, CA — Retired Santa Monica City Manager Bijan Jalili will take over for Tom Bakaly while the city searches for his replacement.
The City Council approved the temporary appointment at its Tuesday night meeting. Bakaly will leaving his post in two weeks to be the new CEO of Beach Citieis Health District.
Jalili, who lives in Manhattan Beach, will take over on Oct. 20.

At the same meeting, the City Council also approved $18,900 plus expenses to retain William Avery & Associates, an executive search firm, to search for a new city manager.
