South Bay by Jackie Weekend Guide March 21, 2019
South Bay by Jackie features a comprehensive selection of things to do, places to go and people to know in the South Bay.

Well, how about that…. This is the 400th issue of the South Bay by JackieWeekend Guide. (These things have a way of sneaking up on you. It’s kind of like when I learned I was a Million Miler on American Airlines. When/how did I fly a million miles???) For the past 400 consecutive weeks - just a few months shy of eight years - I’ve been compiling and curating leisure activities and special events happening throughout the South Bay. I’ve learned A LOT during that time and I’ve had the great pleasure of meeting, and collaborating with, so many amazing people. When I began this undertaking, my website was the only media platform promoting events throughout the entire South Bay. Can you believe it still is? This surprised me for the longest time – I was sure someone younger, smarter, and hipper than I, would take my concept, improve it, go global and make a fortune. But no one has, and now I know why – because it’s an unbelievably ridiculous amount of work! There are websites that have tried to duplicate my model using technology to cut corners, but that never works. Technology can’t reliably curate content…. something will always slip through the cracks or someone will figure out how to insert an item someplace it shouldn’t be. Rest assured, you’ll never find an event in Pasadena listed on my website. Anyway, I want to take this opportunity to thank each of you for your support over the years. I feel really fortunate to enjoy what I do so very much.
