South Bay by Jackie Weekend Guide October 26, 2017
Everything you want to know is going on in the South Bay this Weekend

Woof….it’s been hot. Those of us without air conditioning know to close windows, doors, curtains, blinds or shutters in the early morning to keep the cooler air trapped and the heat out. At the beach, we generally get an afternoon breeze that helps to cool things down, and then it’s safe to open the windows for a little ventilation. But the last few days have been way too still. On Tuesday night about 9 o’clock, we were sitting in the living room watching TV and had all the doors and windows open. Not only was there no breeze, we could feel the temperature climbing, rapidly. We watched the house thermometer go from 81 to 87 degrees in just a couple of minutes. That was weird…. and a little scary. The thought crossed my mind that we might be experiencing some massive, instantaneous, weather phenomenon, like in the movies, and be fried alive. Hey, it’s Halloween – all sorts of spine-chilling things could happen. Fortunately, it looks like this heat wave is abating and we could be back to normal temps for the big night. At least we won’t melt in our costumes.
