Vehicle Plows into Street Repair Worker in Manhattan Beach

A contractor working on street repairs was struck by a vehicle and seriously injured in Manhattan Beach today, police said.

The contractor was injured at Sepulveda Boulevard and Sixth Street about 4:50 a.m., the Manhattan Beach Police Department reported.

The motorist, who suffered a minor injury, remained at the scene, police said. The contractor and the motorist were both transported for hospital treatment.

The northbound lanes of Sepulveda Boulevard were closed from Artesia Boulevard to Eighth Street while an investigation was conducted.
