Waterspouts Spotted Off the Coast
Two pilots reported waterspouts off the coast, and a big thunderstorm has prompted waterspout warnings.
Two pilots reported spotting funnel clouds off the coast of Malibu and Redondo Beach Sunday night as the National Weather Service issued a waterspout warning.
A pilot spotted a waterspout 25 miles west-southwest of Redondo Beach Sunday. The National Weather Service reported two waterspouts were seen by another airplane pilot, 16 miles south of Point Dume, at 5 p.m.
The National Weather service radar spotted a big thunderstorm off Malibu’s Point Dume just before 8:30 tonight, and warned it could produce a waterspout. The dangerous storm was centered 10 miles southeast of Point Dume.

That came several hours after airplane pilots radioed in reports of funnel clouds they spotted off the coast of Los Angeles tonight.
