• New chief communications officer named (ucr.edu) — Highgrove residents may recognize new UC Riverside communications chief Jeff Girod from his service as past chair and current board member of the Highgrove Community Council. The longtime Riverside resident will oversee UCR’s central communications and marketing starting July 13, bringing experience from campus leadership roles and regional outreach campaigns that could further connect the university with nearby communities like Highgrove.
