6-Acre Brush Fire Scorches El Sereno Area
Firefighters made quick work of a a brush fire that broke out in East LA Friday.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Firefighters Friday extinguished a six-acre brush fire in the El Sereno area.
The fire was reported shortly before 1 p.m. and burned uphill near the 2500 block of North Soto Street, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. It was extinguished in about an hour and 10 minutes.
Air units also were sent the scene. No structures were threatened.

The area is about a mile north of the USC Health Sciences campus, which was not affected.
