Patch Blog: Junkyard Kittens Saved on MLK Day
Thanks to the efforts of local residents, a family of ill homeless pets is removed from their damp home at an auto junkyard. Their mother is euthanized but kittens are saved.
I wanted to pass on a story verifying the goodness in humanity.
After running a story about orphaned junkyard kitties on local community and animal welfare Yahoo groups, LA Feeders--new animal welfare non-profit based in Northeast L.A.--is very happy to report the following.
1) Enough donations were received to cover the medical costs and food for the surviving kittens

2) A kind citizen named Suzanne came forward to foster them back to health!
The three kittens and their now-deceased mother were rescued by an unemployed L.A. Feeders volunteer, who could not afford to cover their $400 medical bills. All three kittens were near death.
