Homeless Man Shot And Killed In Highland Park Identified

A 31-year-old man was killed and another person was wounded in an early morning shooting Sunday in Highland Park. No suspect was arrested.

HIGHLAND PARK, CA — Authorities Monday identified a man who was killed in a shooting in the Highland Park area that left another person wounded.

The crime occurred about 5 a.m. Sunday near Avenue 52 and the Pasadena (110) Freeway, and no arrests have been made, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Daniel Duarte, 31, believed to have been a transient, died at the scene, according to the coroner's office.

The survivor, who was not identified, was hospitalized in stable condition, said LAPD Officer Rosario Herrera.
