Man Shot Dead In Nearby Monterey Hills

The LAPD is searching for two male suspects.

LOS ANGELES – Authorities today identified a man who was fatally shot in Monterey Hills.

The shooting was reported at 8:46 p.m. Thursday in the 5000 block of Monterey Road, said Officer Sal Ramirez of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Division.

Damien Blakely, 44, of Los Angeles died at the scene, said coroner's Assistant Chief Ed Winter.

Police are looking for two male suspects in the shooting. It is unknown if the shooting was gang-related, Ramirez said.

A man in his early 30s was fatally shot Thursday evening in Monterey Hills.

The shooting was reported at 8:46 p.m. in the 5000 block of Monterey Road, said Officer Sal Ramirez of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Division.

The victim died at the scene, Ramirez said.

Police are looking for two male suspects in the shooting. It is unknown if the shooting was gang-related, Ramirez said.
