101 Freeway SigAlert: 1 Killed In Vine Street Off-Ramp Crash
A vehicle reportedly ran off the freeway, crashed through a series of trees and into a building at Vine Street, killing a pedestrian.
LOS ANGELES, CA — A pedestrian was killed early Thursday morning in a wild crash near a Hollywood (101) Freeway off ramp. According to broadcast reports from the scene, a vehicle ran off the freeway, crashed through a series of trees and into a building at Vine Street at about 4:30 a.m. Thursday.
A second person was hospitalized after the collision at the the Vine Street off ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol. The CHP issued a SigAlert for the Hollywood (101) Freeway. The SigAlert was extended for an unknown duration just before 7 a.m., according to the CHP. Commuters were advised to avoid the area.
The CHP confirmed that Los Angeles Police Department patrol units responded at 4:23 a.m. to the Vine Street off ramp of the freeway where a pedestrian had been struck and killed. According to LAPD Officer Drake Madison, the driver of the vehicle was taken to a hospital in an unknown condition.
