Baby Handed To Couple As They Were Dining At A Hollywood Restaurant
The couple surrendered the 1-month old baby at a police station after a woman handed the baby to them at a Hollywood restaurant.
HOLLYWOOD, CA — A couple dining at a Hollywood burger restaurant say a woman handed them a 1-month old baby while they were eating and said she could no longer care for the child, KTLA reported.
The incident happened at Chris N Eddy’s on Sunset Boulevard just after midnight Tuesday. The couple took the baby and surrendered him or her to the Beverly Hills Police Department, the TV station reported.
The baby appeared to be in good health and was taken to a hospital for a checkup, according to KTLA.

The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating whether the incident qualifies as a safe surrender under state law, which stipulates that a person with lawful custody of a child can safely surrender a baby confidently and without fear of persecution within 72 hours of birth, according to KTLA.
