Fate of Blue Palms Brewhouse Unclear
The restaurant is now in a struggle to stay afloat after The Music Box closes its doors.
For now it is business as usual at the Blue Palms Brewhouse, but owner Brian Lenzo is not sure how long it will stay that way.
The restaurant, which specializes in offering a variety of beers, is having “an issue with the landlords,” Lenzo said. This follows the news of its next door neighbor, , "short term closure," according to the L.A. Times. Lenzo said he was one of the original operators of The Music Box until he decided to open Blue Palms Brewhouse nearly four years ago.
“We sublease through Music Box,” Lenzo said. “We’re trying to work with the landlord.”

Over the years, the restaurant has become popular with beer afficiandos and foodies like John Eeau who was meeting a friend there Friday night.
“The owner, Brian, is so in tune with beer,” Eeau said of the selections.

Eeau and his friend, Armin Chamanara, meet up at Blue Palms every other Friday. The news that it might close came as a surprise to them, but they hope it will stay open.
“I drive here because I love it so much,” said Chamanara who makes the trek from West L.A. and loves the truffle burgers. “It’s like you take a bite of a sandwich here, and it’s twice as good as somewhere else.”
Lenzo said the customers mean everything to his establishment.
“We’ve grown with the community,” Lenzo said. “It’s a lot like Cheers. We have a real Midwest vibe. We believe in being nice to our customers and treat them with respect.”
Matthew Lanoue, a first-time customer who ventured in Friday in search of a “good beer place” hopes to be able to come back again when he visits from his hometown of Joliet, Illinois.
“I really like it,” he said of the restaurant. “If I lived here, this would be my place.”
Many locals seem to feel that way given the outpouring of support from patrons on Blue Palms Brewhouse’s Facebook page. Many with offers to help in any way they can. Lenzo simply hopes to avoid the same fate The Music Box.
“We just want to keep what we’re doing in Hollywood alive,” Lenzo said. “We’re like a family here. We all support each other.”
