Body Found On 101 Freeway Triggers Cahuenga Pass Lane Closures
The investigation shut down some northbound lanes on the 101 Freeway Wednesday.
LOS ANGELES, CA — A grisly discovery forced the closure of several lanes of the northbound Ventura (101) Freeway in the Cahuenga Pass, Wednesday morning.
A body was found near Barham Boulevard about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to the California Highway Patrol. The discovery shut down the freeway as morning rush hour hit. According to investigators, a man had died of an apparent suicide by jumping from an overcrossing onto the northbound Ventura (101) Freeway in the Cahuenga Pass, authorities said.
Information was not immediately available on the identity of the person.

Two northbound lanes were reopened about 6:45 a.m., and the remaining lanes were reopened about 90 minutes later, the CHP reported. Traffic was backed up for miles on the 101 in both directions during the morning rush hour.
