Firefighters responded aggressively with water dropping helicopters and hand crews working to stop the blaze from reaching homes.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — Firefighters knocked down a brush fire in Hollywood before it could do much damage Friday morning. Firefighters took an aggressive approach to the battle with water dropping helicopters and ground crews stopping the blaze at just a quarter acre.

The fire broke out just before 7 a.m. Friday near the 1400 block of North Crescent Heights Boulevard. The flames burned up steep hillside terrain, making it a challenge for ground crews. The fire threatened one building, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. No one was hurt in the blaze. It took firefighters 49 minutes to put out the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
