Budacki's Hot Dog Brings Chicago-Style Fare to Southern California

Established in 1962 in Chicago, Budacki's has traveled westward and plans to expand in Southern California.

If you're a transplant from the Midwest, or simply want a taste of true Chicago-style fare, look no further than Budacki's Hot Dog in Exposition Park near  the USC campus.

Established in Chicago in 1962, Budacki's traveled westward earlier this year to bring Vienna Beef Chicago-style hot dogs, Maxwell Street Polish sausage and Italian beef, and other fast-food fare to southern California. The grand opening was held in February.

So, do you happen to know all the fixings for a Chicago-style hot dog?
They include:

  • Vienna Yellow Mustard
  • Vienna Chicago Style Green Relish
  • Fresh Chopped Onion
  • Two Tomato Wedges
  • A Vienna Kosher Dill Pickle Spear
  • Two Vienna Sport Peppers
  • A Dash of Vienna Celery Salt
If you go the true Chicago way, you won't dare put Ketchup on your hot dog. Senior Vice President of Vienna Beef, Bob Schwartz actually wrote a book on the topic, called "Never Put Ketchup on a Hot Dog."

Whichever way you like your hot dogs or the other offerings at Budacki's, they will serve it up fresh for patrons to savor.
