Driver Killed While Possibly Fleeing Pedestrian Crash

LOS ANGELES – A man suspected of striking a pedestrian while driving a pickup was killed when his truck collided with another vehicle Wednesday in Hancock Park as he was fleeing the scene of the first crash, police said.

Witnesses told reporters at the scene that the man was ejected from the truck.

The collision between the truck and the vehicle was reported at 12:45 a.m. in the area of Beverly Boulevard and Highland Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department's West Traffic Bureau.

The driver of the other vehicle was taken to a hospital in stable condition, as well as the pedestrian who was struck in the first crash, police said.
