Driver Slams Into LAPD Car, Injuring 2
The driver was arrested after reportedly running a red light and slamming into the patrol unit at a North Hollywood intersection.
NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — A suspected drunken driver allegedly ran a red light and rammed into a Los Angeles Police Department SUV, injuring two officers early Monday morning.
The two Los Angeles Police Department officers were hospitalized in stable condition, according to the police department. The driver who allegedly ran the red light was also injured. The driver was treated and arrested, according to KABC7.
The crash happened at 1:09 a.m. at Magnolia Boulevard and Tujunga Avenue, according to Officer N. Vargas in the LAPD's Department Operations Center. The officers were taken to a hospital with stable vital signs, she said.

It's the second time in less than a month that officers were injured in collisions in North Hollywood. A motorcycle officer had to be hospitalized following a collision with another vehicle on the Hollywood (170) Freeway in North Hollywood in November. And in North Hills, an off-duty motorcycle officer was hurt last week when motorcycle was struck by an alleged drunk driver in North Hills.
