There have been many business people who have been talked into buying the services of would be Facebook marketers who posed as being Facebook Fanpage experts.
And in that guise, thet told the business owner how establishing a fanpage would be the cat's meow of Facebook marketing. They may have scrounged up a few dozen likes from friends and generated some traffic, but by and large the results came to nothing.
The key to marketing with a good Facebook fanpage is to market to the page, not make the fanpage the marketing agent.
The very best way to advertise on the Internet is to use Facebook Ads. This method allows you to fine tune your audience down to the smallest segment and niche of people who are interested in your product or service, which gives incredible targeting capabilities.
So you make your Facebook page to relevant to the topic of your product or service, and then target your audience with the facebook ads.
You then post your ad on the newsfeed of your Facebook page and it will go out to all of the targeted Facebook subscribers. You can get the ads for $.01 to $1.50 per click, which is the most reasonable cost for anything like it.
Instead of just shooting in the dark at unknown targets, you have now focused on people who have said at one time or another that they are interested in some way in your product or service. The likelihood of finding an interested looker out of the blue at random is small, compared to targeting interested people.
The options for targeting the demographics of individuals and their likes and dislikes, ages, geographical locations, incomes, family status, occupations, and so on is very exhaustive when it comes to choices in the matter. The ability to focus on a group of individuals who would have a very good interest is high.
Facebook has well over one billion subscribers, and from this group of people, comes mountains of data in regard to their likes and dislikes, and lots of information as to how they lead their lives.
Once the subscriber sees the ad on his newsfeed of Facebook, he is invited to your Fanpage where he will receive more detailed information and you can invite a purchase, questions, a survey, or whatever you wish, as you can be as creative as you need to be.
