HOLLYWOOD, CA — A "small fire" Thursday has temporarily halted shows at the Pantages Theatre, according to its management.

The theater's performances of "Les Miserables"on Thursday and Friday were canceled due to the fire, which broke out Thursday morning. Firefighters found smoke in an electrical room and a backstage area when they responded to the scene, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

While firefighters found no fire inside, they were told that there was an earlier problem with a transformer, fire officials said.

"Due to an electrical outage, which caused a small fire at the Hollywood Pantages, 'Les Miserables' performances on (Thursday and Friday) have been CANCELED," the theater said in a social media post. "While we are grateful that nobody was harmed, the building did sustain minor damage, which we are addressing."

Ticket holders have until Wednesday to exchange their tickets online for another performance. Those who do not exchange their tickets will be issued refunds, according to the theater.
