‘Frozen 2,’ ‘Star Wars,’ ‘Lion King Live’ And ‘Indiana Jones’ Release Dates Set
Disney announced release dates for its major franchise films, including "Frozen 2," "Star Wars: Episode IX" and "Lion King Live Action."
HOLLYWOOD, CA — Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures announced a series of major franchise film release dates Tuesday likely to have an impact on movie releases for years to come as competing studios decide whether to go head-to-head with “Frozen 2” and “Star Wars: Episode IX.”
Disney film buffs can now mark their calendars with official release dates for “Frozen 2,”“Star Wars: Episode IX,” “The Lion King (Live Action),” “A Wrinkle In Time” and an untitled Indiana Jones movie by Steven Spielberg.
Disney and Star Wars fans will have two busy movie-going years, beginning with the release of "Frozen 2" in November of 2019. The follow-up to the surprise animated juggernaut released in 2013 will be six years in the making, and expectations are high for the franchise, which has been dominant in toy sales ever since.

Next comes “Star Wars: Episode IX” to kick off the 2019 summer blockbusters. “Episode IX” completes the latest “Star Wars” trilogy. “The Lion King (Live Action)” film featuring James Earl and Donald Glover will be directed by Jon Favreau, and it will come out in July of 2019.
“Indiana Jones” rounds out the summer blockbusters with a July 2020 release date.
