Helicopter Rescues Hiker From Runyon Canyon After Ankle Injury

The woman was hiking in a remote area of Runyon Canyon Sunday afternoon.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — Firefighters air lifted a hiker out of Runyon Canyon Sunday afternoon after the hiker injured her ankle and was unable to continue on her journey.

The woman, in her 30s, was located in a remote area of the canyon park just before 2 p.m. Sunday. The Los Angeles Fire Department lowered a paramedic rescuer down to her from a helicopter. After the paramedic evaluated her, the woman was hoisted up to the helicopter and transported to an area hospital, according to the LAFD.
