Hollywood Alleyway Shooting Suspect Arrested In Reseda: Police

A conflict in a Sunset Boulevard alleyway turned violent when a man attempted to intervene, police said.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — A Reseda man is being held on $1.15 million bail after being arrested on suspicion of shooting a man behind a Sunset Boulevard restaurant last weekend, police said.

Verdeges Petrosyan was arrested in Reseda Thursday afternoon after an investigation by Los Angeles Police Department detectives, LAPD Gang and Narcotics and U.S. Marshal Apprehension Task Force investigators. He was booked on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon, according to the LAPD.

On Saturday at around 2:25 a.m., police said Petrosyan and a woman were engaged in a conflict in an alleyway near a restaurant just west of Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue. After the altercation turned physical, a male bystander attempted to intervene and was shot by Petrosyan, the LAPD said.

Petrosyan and the woman then entered a vehicle and fled the scene, police said.
