Woman Shoots Home Invasion Robber With Shotgun In Hollywood Hills: LAPD

A man who was attempting to break into a Hollywood Hills home was critically wounded by a shotgun blast fired by the homeowner, police said

HOLLYWOOD, CA — A man who was attempting to break into a Hollywood Hills home Sunday night was critically wounded by a shotgun blast fired by the homeowner, police said.

The shooting was reported at around 9:30 p.m. Sunday on the 2800 block of Hollyridge Drive, just west of Griffith Park's Bronson Caves. The homeowner told police she saw the man attempting to enter her home through a window and saw him reaching into his pocket before she fired at him, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The woman and her husband told police that they heard the man say "they hurt me" and asked them to let him inside, KCAL 9 reported.

KCAL reported that neighbors said the man was attempting to get inside other homes in the area.
