Hostage Situation Unfolds In Beverly Grove Area
Los Angeles police have surrounded a home in the Hollywood area where a man has taken hostages.
HOLLYWOOD, — An armed man is holding people hostage in a home on Edinburgh Avenue in the Hollywood area near Melrose Avenue in Hollywood.
Police evacuated the area, and a SWAT Team has surrounded the home.
"We have a hostage situation. SWAT has responded. Negotiation teams have responded. Apparently, he let two people go," said Los Angeles Police Officer Sal Ramirez.

A woman and child who had possibly been held by the suspect exited the building about 7:30 p.m., according to police.
Reports of an armed man holding people hostage in the 600 block of North Edinburgh Avenue came in at about 4:30 p.m.

The standoff continued as of 11:50 p.m.
