LOS ANGELES - Los Angeles might play host to part of a star-studded telethon next month to raise money for relief efforts in hurricane-ravaged Texas.

Houston rapper Bun B told the website TMZ.com he is working to plan a Sept. 12 three-city event that would be nationally televised. The event would be hosted in Los Angeles, New York and Nashville.

The rapper said he is working with organizers -- including Scooter Braun -- of the Ariana Grande One Love Manchester concert that raised funds for victims of the terrorist attack in that city.

According to TMZ, the Los Angeles portion of the event would be hosted by Texas native Jamie Foxx and potentially by Houston native Hilary Duff. The Nashville stage would be led by Reese Witherspoon and Blake Shelton, with Michael Strahan expected to host from New York.

Foxx referenced the telethon Tuesday in an Instagram video in which he announced a $25,000 donation to Global Giving to help with relief efforts.
