Jerry Lewis Hospitalized

Actor Jerry Lewis is recovering in the hospital after an infection required antibiotic treatment.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — Jerry Lewis is recovering Tuesday after being treated at a Las Vegas hospital for a urinary tract infection, his publicist said.

The 91-year-old entertainer was taken to the hospital Friday so that he could get antibiotics immediately to treat the condition, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Publicist Candi Cazau told the Reporter that Lewis is doing fine and is expected to be released shortly.

Lewis has dealt with a variety of health issues in the past, including hospitalizations in 2012 for a blood sugar drop and in 2011 for being overly tired, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The comedian is scheduled to travel to Toronto later this week to shoot a movie, the newspaper reported.
