Man Dies From Serious Burns Sustained In Hollywood House Fire: LAFD

A man died after suffering burns from a house fire in Hollywood early Tuesday morning.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — A man died Tuesday morning after suffering burns he sustained in a house fire in Hollywood, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to 963 N Serrano Ave., just east of Santa Monica Boulevard and Western Avenue, Tuesday at 5:37 a.m. Crews found moderate smoke coming from one unit of the duplex on the second floor, according to the LAFD.

It took 36 firefighters 19 minutes to extinguish the fire. A man in his 60s was transported to a local hospital for treatment of what firefighters called "serious burn injuries."

The man was pronounced dead at the hospital, according to the LAFD.
