Man Fatally Stabbed In The Back, Closing Sunset Boulevard

Police are looking for a killer, who stabbed a man in the back in Hollywood.

HOLLYWOOD,CA — Police are looking for a killer in Hollywood who stabbed a man in the back overnight, killing him on Sunset Boulevard. The homicide investigation prompted the closure of Sunset Boulevard for hours, an eerie site overnight of one of LA's busiest streets at a standstill.

Officers were called to the scene at 7500 block of Sunset Boulevard near Sierra Bonita Avenue where Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics were tried to save a man who had been stabbed in the back, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, said Los Angeles Police Department Officer Ray Brown.

The wounded man's name was withheld, pending family notification. Detectives did not release suspect information Thursday.

"We're looking for anybody who was out here about 1 o'clock in the morning that saw anything, that could give us information that could help us determine what occurred," LAPD Lt. John Radke told reporters at the scene.

Sunset Boulevard was closed for several hours between Curson Avenue and Gardener Street while detectives conducted an investigation.
