Man Killed in Burbank Crash Identified

Authorities today identified a man who was killed when the motor scooter he was riding collided with another vehicle in Burbank.

The crash occurred at Victory Place and Maria Street about 5 p.m. Thursday, said Burbank police Sgt. Claudio Losacco. Davin Smith, 34, of Valencia, died at a hospital.

Smith’s scooter was engulfed in flames when police officers arrived, Losacco said.

According to the preliminary investigation, Smith’s scooter broadsided a vehicle that made a left turn in front of him, Losacco said. The other motorist was interviewed by police.

“Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor in this collision,” Losacco said. “No citations were issued or arrests made.”
