Man Killed In Hollywood Shooting Sunday Has Been Identified

Police are still searching for the man suspected of killing two people at Sunset and La Brea Sunday morning.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — As police continue to search for the man suspected of fatally shooting two men in Hollywood Sunday, the coroner's office has identified one of the victims.

Jaheim Hunter, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner's office. Officers patrolling the area around Sunset Boulevard and La Brea Avenue around 12:15 a.m. heard multiple gunshots and found Hunter and one other victim suffering gunshot wounds, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The second victim, who like Hunter was described as a Black man in his 20s from the Lancaster/Palmdale area, was transported to a local hospital, where he died from his injures, police said. He has not yet been identified.

Police believe the suspect took out a handgun and began firing at the two victims after an argument broke out between the three men. The exact cause of the shooting is still under investigation, according to the LAPD.

The man suspected of the shooting fled on foot. Police described him as a Black man in his 20s.
