Man, Possibly Rapper 'Young Dolph,' Shot In Hollywood
The shooting incident was near Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue.

HOLLYWOOD, CA – A man believed to be rap artist Young Dolph was shot and wounded today near the heart of the bustling Hollywood tourist district.
The shooting occurred about 1:15 p.m. in or near a shoe store on Highland Avenue just north of Hollywood Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The victim -- identified in multiple reports as Young Dolph, 32, whose real name is Adolph Thornton Jr. -- was in stable condition when rushed to a hospital, according to reports from the scene. Although police did not immediately confirm his identity, at least one witness to the shooting posted on Twitter that he saw the rapper being loaded into an ambulance.

Earlier this year, the Memphis rapper's SUV was shot about 100 times while he was performing in Charlotte, North Carolina. He released an album inApril titled "Bulletproof.''
Police had been looking for a gold Cadillac Escalade, but later reported that it had been located.

Highland Avenue was closed between Hollywood Boulevard and Yucca Street to accommodate the investigation.
