Man Shot And Killed Near Hollywood Homeless Encampment

The killer in the shooting at Vine Street and La Mirada Avenue​ remained at large Monday morning,

HOLLYWOOD, CA — A man was shot and killed in the early morning hours Monday in Hollywood, and his killer remains at large.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the shooting occurred near a homeless encampment at Vine Street and La Mirada Avenue at about 2:30 a.m.

Officers arrived on the scene to find the victim, believed to be a homeless man, leading on the sidewalk.

"When officers arrived, they located a victim of a shooting on the sidewalk," police said in a statement. "Officers attempted life-saving measures prior to the arrival of paramedics. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced the victim dead at scene."

Police believe the victim was in his 40s.

No suspect information was immediately available. It was not clear how many shooters there were.
